That might work! I don't really want us to spend $40 on a motor though, what I'll do is try with a DC motor first, to see if I can get it to work with that. Otherwise, that motor looks perfect!!
 
Hi, I know this is a really old thread, but just for future reference. Plus, it makes me kind of happy that for once I can answer a question rather than ask it!

What I used was just insulation foam from home depot. And although it took a little time, a regular, shanty old handsaw worked just fine, we used that to make the edges look like stone, all that good stuff.

As for texturing, I painted them all a base grey color. Then I just took a natural sponge and 3 or 4 lighter and darker greys and just spackled them all. It took a while, and technically the surface was still flat, but from 40 feet away, it looked spectacular.
