We just acquired 5 High End Studio Spot 250's and I am wondering about the photometrics of these. Right now they have the standard 18 degree lens in them. We are looking into getting the 27 degree lens to use in them occasionally. The only time they would be used with the 27 degree lens would be in theatrical applications with either no filter or the CTO filter. I cant seem to figure out what the light output would be with this lens compared to the 18. They also make a 40 degree, but I cant imagine that there would be nearly enough light output with these, and I'm a bit skeptical about the 27's as is. If anybody has any of this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't consider using them when a tight focus is necessary. That fixture is notorious for not maintaining a position across cues.
