Hello there. I was advised I should come here and introduce myself and give a little bit of information on the project (or projects) I am working on.

My name is Matt and I run a Computer Repair Company locally in a rural community in Northern Idaho. I am also the Technical Director (self-titled) at one of the local churches and I also assist with control booth type stuff at many different events (school, plays, etc.) Sometimes that assistance is just here, let me turn down the high gain on that portable system so you are not feeding back and killing my ears!

I have just recently fixed a DMX/Microplex Stage lighting system at the Highschool (The reason I even found this board was research into that issue.) I am sure I will be asked to assist in training both the Drama Teacher as well as the students how to program their Lighting Console when the time comes for their play.

I also handle the sound and visuals at my church. We use an old Analog sound reinforcement system (that is on it's last leg) and has to be portable and a Mac Mini driven Visual system using ProPresenter 5. (We can not afford to update to 6 yet.) There is HDMI to SDI back to HDMI conversions going on between the Mac Mini and the two projectors (as well as a signal duplicator.)

I would like to, at some point, get to where I can have a Confidence monitor setup as well as upgrade the sound reinforcement system to digital and have the ability to have IEM's for the worship team.

@cpctech Welcome aboard Matt, there are worse places you could be. Many of us are "old Analog" guys on our "last leg" but too senile to lie down.

I would love to go digital. I am all for it. However, the budget right now says No. :) I will never give up... Well at least until they tell me "you can't hear anything stop running sound..."

Correct! @EdSavoie @cpctech @JonCarter PFL'd LED's are today's poor substitute replacements for loudly clicking and sturdily built 4.5" VU meter pointers slamming loudly into their upper EOT, End Of Travel, mechanical stops.
    [Also SARCASM!!]

[Who'd likely still be working sound and / or lighting but an aging life-long techie who went blind literally overnight looks pretty silly attempting to "run around" either trying to look and / or listen. Only my memories remain and there's very little call these days for a skilled Edison cylinder operator, unionized or not.
