The art of the board operator

I agree with all.

I started my lighting career on a 36-channel double preset full manual board with a huge array of DIP switches for programming chases. (Guess which board).

However I love all the amazing ideas I can realise with the newer technology we now have, including moving lights and scenes, chases and more.

For a musical I will normally run on presets (I can program my red bank of faders as scene storage so I can just run across the faders scene/chase by scene/chase).

However for band things I like a good busk - although it can be hard with a limited amount of specials / no MLs in the permanent rig.

Last time I organised some FX for a band thing I ended up getting a pair of spot ops in.
