We discussed in passing in this thread that Dolby had discontinued the Lake processing line. Well as of Monday, Lab.gruppen have acquired the DLP line and underlying technologies, see their press release.

So it looks like we have good times ahead for those that use DLPs and the legacy Mesa and Contour lines...

I have seen it worded different ways but the impression I get is that Dolby basically is granting Lab.gruppen exclusive rights to the Lake name, DLP product line and the underlying technology (specifically the code) but Dolby maintained actual ownership of the underlying technology.

I'm curious as to whether Lab.gruppen will continue the Lake Processor or develop any standalone products or whether they will only incorporate it into their amplifiers.
