I am working on a production of Thoroughly Modern Millie and I am trying to come up with an idea on how to make the elevator move. I have read some of the other post and gotten some good ideas from those but I would really like to make it move. This is what I have to work with. Two really good welders, two one (1) ton cm Lodestar motors, one half (1/2) ton cm Lodestar motor, rigging knowledge & experience, and a boat load of load rated aircraft cable. All I would like to do is have it raise up 2-3 feet. I have some ideas but would like to get some other input on this too. The one problem I am running into is the reveal aspect of the whole thing. How to get on and off stage and hooked & unhooked in the short time of that scene change.
