Time passage through a static projected image

Let me start of by saying I have never used projected scenery before. I need to show a photo realistic background of a garden that will be visible behind a window. However this play takes place from noon to dusk so I have to show the passage of time. Is there a way to accomplish this transition. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Both Cue Player and Qlab allow for a long timed fade.

What are you using to project the image? You could try shooting amber, blue, or whatever at low intensity from a fixture onto the projection.

You could just take any image and adjust the colors of the same imagine giving it that transistions of day to night, then just plug it into any viewer, show control program, or media player if you make it a video. There are many ways to do this it comes down to time ,equipment , editing software, and budget.

Personally, I would find a time lapse footage of the scene you want to project that has a high frame rate. I would then use one of many different programs which will allow it to control the speed of playback. As suggested, I would emphasize the look by adding some lighting.
