Costumes. A woven fabric ribbon, in widths varying from 3/8" to 1.5", primarily used to finish and reinforce the edges or seams of a garment. Standard colors are black, white, and natural, but also available in many others.

Two non-costume theatrical uses are:

  1. As an alternative to grommet and tieline for hanging softgoods: two lengths of twill tape are sewn into the webbing every 12": sewn_ties_lg.jpg or sometimes used with grommets instead of tie-line.
  2. As a ribbon spike in a the purchase line of a counterweight fly system.
