Not bad considering it way written for a lay audience. Its key tenets are just as applicable to the US (and likely everywhere else) as in the UK.
1. Qualifications aren't everything
2. Transfer your skills
3. Get experience as casual crew
4. Be in the right place as much as possible
5. Be the nice guy
6. Health and safety is king
7. Understand the role of backstage crew

I have no knowledge of its validity, but I like the concept and wish the US had something like "Crew Class." Although I hope most CB-ers would be beyond the introductory level.
 
Yeah, I think the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas was trying to be something like that. I would be interested in hearing from someone who paid to go to their classes.
