Unison Paradigm was released in 2008; former Unison systems are now referred to as Legacy Unison installs. Paradigm features the same wiring as Legacy, but all peripheral stations and DRd/ERn racks utilize new hardware. While the exterior view of Paradigm looks very similar to Legacy, the back-end configuration and programming software, Light Designer, makes Paradigm incredibly more flexible. Paired with Light Designer is Control Designer, an application to create highly-customizable custom layouts for Paradigm's LCD touch screens.
