voltage Asia

Greetings from Tokyo,

I have a large supply of ETC source 4's here that are rated at 100V. I've used both 500 and 750W lamps in them.

(100V) lamps here are quite pricey compared to the prices I see on-line for the states. But lamps from the states are rated at 115V.

I'm wondering if the 115V lamps would be able to operate in my 100V S4's? Alternatively can anyone recommend a site where I can get HPL 750/100V lamps at a decent price?

Thanks!

You COULD use 115v lamps in your fixtures, but based on a line voltage of 100v, ETC's RT116 HPL 750/115, would have changed chracateristics of:
1846 Hours instead of 800
13617 Lumens instead of 21900
3065K colour temp instead of 3250
600W instead of 750

So yes it would work, it would just be dim and red shifted...

Greetings Tokyoed, and welcome to the ControlBooth. There are many useful tools here such as the Wiki and a treasure trove of Searchable topics and threads.

Voltage and wattage for other equipment you have may be figured with this simple table-

Act Voltage-Ave life-total output-Act Watts
85%...... 825% .... 58%...... 78%
90% ..... 400% .... 70%...... 85%
95% ..... 200% .... 84%...... 93%
100% ... 100% .... 100%.... 100%
105% ... 54% ...... 119% ... 108%
110% ... 29% ...... 138%.... 116%
115% ... 16% ...... 160%.... 124%
