What is this?

I spotted this interesting fashion-show setup in a mall somewhere around Atlanta, GA, on Friday last (14/04/2006).

What intrested me were the fixtues; they look like pinspots attached to moving bases- this I ascertained by touching the fixture in the photo and moving it around a little... Only 2 wires (I assume 2) enter the fixture, which I assume power the 'instrument'; both the light and the motor?

My interest is thus;
a.) What the hell is it?
b.) Who makes it?
c.) How much does it cost?
d.) Is it any good, at all?

If anyone has any idea, do share? It seems like the perfect thing for adding a little sparkle to a low-budget fashion show, which is what it seems to be...

Thanks,

Thomas.

Those fixtures are usually called oscillators (named after the motion of a fan)

They are quite inexpensive and use a GE 4515 bulb.

Also available is the oscillating gobo projector.
