whats the most common sandbag, 25lb or 35lb?

I think it really depends on the application and what you have in stock. I don't know if one os more common than the other. Generally though, it doesn't hurt to have more weight.

What kind of lights are you holding down? 25lb is a bit more managlable, but it depends on what kind of bags you are looking at. For stands, saddle bags are preferred.

My theater has 5 25lb sandbags, 4 50lb, 2 75lb bags and 2 100 lb pound bags. We used them in a rigging workshop for my class a year ago, i ended up using them for othe things like weighing down boom bases as well. From what i seen, if your in educational theater (at least in my theater) no one besides myself and the TD can move anything over a 50lb bag. The 25lb bags are wonderful as they are no a pain in rear to carry over a fairly long distance.

I might just have avoided the question completely, i should go to bed.
