Are you comparing Studio Spot 250 to a MAC700? That would not be a fair comparison. If you are looking at a Studio Spot 575 then it will certainly punch through saturate colors and the litho wheels are great. Add the CMY version and you even get color mixing.
Plus they are all tons quieter than the Martin units which are pretty much useless in a theaterical environment (unless you are putting them US of the procenium in a very large house).
