Who will be going to LDI 2012

Yeah I'm sure. My degree is in Mechanical Engineering so it'll be like paradise!

For an engineer it's going to be nuts. I was lucky enough to actually be on deck during the entire show when I did the LDI all day job shadow 4 years ago. That theater is alive with amazing Engineering design, you'll be drooling. If I were you I would see the show before you have the tour.

I am surprised that they are still offering the SynAudCon and the Concert Sound Master classes at LDI given that there are now so few audio exhibitors.

Would there be any interest in dinner and hanging out on Thursday night? It could either be meet at a certain place for dinner or a more loose open invitation, "Join us at ______ between 7:30-9:30". I was thinking maybe some of our friends working the exhibit hall booths might even be able to join us.

So send me a PM if you are interested in doing something with the CB crew and fairly confident you would actually show up. We don't want to plan something and have nobody show up. Let me know if you have any specific time restrictions, if there is a better area for you. If you need a ride (we can probably setup some carpools). If you have suggestions of where we should go let me know. Ideas I had were somewhere casual and out of the way like the Peppermill, somewhere on Fremont Street followed by watching the light show (I love the Buffet at the Main Street Station), or we could just find a bar somewhere.

I'll see what works out best for the most people and let you know the final results here.

I saw it the first time I went to Vegas. It is an incredible show with the theater being almost as talented as the actors/acrobats. I'm scraping the bottom on this trip so I'm not sure if I'll be able to see it again this time.

As for meeting up, you bet. Fremont St would be cool. Sent you a PM.

I didn't notice this when I was registering.

LDI has announced that direct donations can be made to Behind the
Scenes on the LDI2012 website. There are three donation amounts right
on the LDI registration page, in order to make the process as easy as
possible. These amounts are $15, $25, and $50. "Nevada laws prevents
us from hosting a raffle in Las Vegas as we have done for Behind the
Scenes in past years at events in New York City and Orlando," reports
LDI show director Zari Stahl. "This seems liked a logical way for LDI
attendees to easily support this worthwhile charity at the same time
they register for the show." Donations made when you register for LDI
go directly to Behind the Scenes and are tax deductible to the extent
allowed by law.

Rick Rudolph, Chair of the Behind the Scenes Committee, commented, "We
have been struggling with how to replace the income from the loss of
the raffle this year, as those funds are very important to our ability
to continue making grants to our colleagues in need. LDI's suggestion
to allow people to make donations while registering for the show was
very welcome and underscores their longstanding commitment to Behind
the Scenes since its inception. We are very grateful to everyone at
LDI and Penton Media."

Once you're at the show, be sure to stop by the Behind the Scenes
booth #2041 and shop the BTS Boutique featuring the new Behind the
Scenes USB ghostlight, the perfect accessory for your laptop, and
lighting or audio console. You'll also find holiday cards, note cards,
ties, earrings, polos, tanks, and a special sale on t-shirts.

Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to entertainment
technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Grants may
be used for medical expenses or basic living expenses. Funds are
available to anyone who has worked at least five years full time in
the industry, whether behind the curtain or behind the camera, or for
one of the companies who manufacture or supply products and services
to the industry. Behind the Scenes brings help and hope in times of
crises. Individuals or companies can also support Behind the Scenes by
making donations online at ESTA Foundation - Behind the Scenes - About Behind the Scenes, News, Apply for a Grant, Make a Contribution
or by calling 212-244-1421.

Just received my invite to the 4Wall party, which ends 30 minutes before I get off work.

I wish I could get there for the worship lighting panel on Friday but my schedule is so tight I can't make it. I am actually getting in town Friday around midnight, seeing as much of the show as possible on Saturday and driving back to Phoenix Saturday night so I can run our worship services Sunday morning! Busy weekend!!

Once again, I won't be at LDI.

But USITT 2013 is in Milwaukee! So I know I at least have places to stay.

Do we have the official day/time to meet at the Apollo booth yet? Looks like Saturday might be good.

Okay tomorrow. Waiting for a confirmation from Kelite.

As the US authorized dealer for Spotlight, we will be debuting three new Spotlight LED units: Frensel LED 200W, Profile Zoom LED 200W, and Profile Zoom LED 250W RGBW.

We will also have our newest product line, Tuff-Stuff C-Clamps, hanging in a few locations in our booth. These incredibly strong, extruded aluminum clamps are the toughest clamps on the market.

Now, now gafftaper GET-A-GRIP.
Hmmmmm Tuff-Stuff C-clamps, I wonder...............

Heh heh heh, you guys are SO clever....

I'll have to catch up with the ControlBooth crowd next time around- :boohoo: The high school where I spend a chunk of my time has made it to semi-state- woohoo! I told the staff and students that if I started the season, I would certainly finish with them. :)

Glad to see we've sparked an interest for you CW. See you soon.
