Working Drawings
Working Drawings, usually produced by the TD, are scale drawings from which scenic elements can be constructed. Essentially Working Drawings are the "Instructions" of how to build the set. In some cases a scenic designer will supply a TD with a sketch of what he wants a completed set to look like. More often the TD will be supplied with scaled drawing that include: Elevations, Ground Plans and Sections < or Sectionals>. In either case the TD will then break down the whole set into smaller, easier to build / transport individuals pieces. Working Drawings should always be in a scale adequate to convey the details necessary to properly reproduce the item in question. They should include notes about any non-standard framing, covering material for a given piece, labelling information, and finish technique.
