Hello, I am curious if anyone has an experience with these wireless protocols in entertainment use. I am wanting to use one of these in a museum install I will be doing over the holiday season to control some tiny mini winches wirelessly. The winches would literally only be holding 1lb at most. Since this will be a museum install I am trying to minimize cable by having a rechargeable batter by each small winch and using one of the mentioned protocols to control what they do. Please let me know if anyone has any experience with this and if you have had any success or if I should look at another option. I thought about using wireless DMX but I wanted to get peoples thoughts on this as well.

Thanks!

What are using as the winch motor? Our versatile wireless DMX dimmers and receivers are battery powered and can directly drive DC motors and common servo motors. We have plenty of references for you if you're worried about reliability.

If you'll be using this in the USA I must suggest having a look at our RC4Magic-900SX system. It runs in a completely separate RF band from WiFi, Bluetooth, etc., so you won't be fighting traffic doing other things. This week we're launching the new SX with lower prices that compete with similar 2.4GHz devices.

In particular, the DMX2dim can do a bidrectional DC motor or 2 servo motors, or 2 of any kind of LED, lamp, solenoid, relay, etc.:

We also have a 4-channel version, and a higher power 4-channel version if you need to drive larger loads.
