RDM

RDM is Remote Device Management, a standard for remote control and monitoring of equipment that uses DMX512. This standard is published as ANSI E1.20, and was created by the ESTA Technical Standards Program. The standard requires the data link on DMX pins 2 and 3 to be a true bi-directional EIA-485 link. One of the most useful RDM functions is remote address setting of DMX equipment. As of 2008, more and more RDM-capable equipment is appearing in the market.
