Also written as "House Light" and abbreviated "HseLts" or "HL" (which may confuse with House Left), illumination in the auditorium for the audience. While almost always incandescent, other sources may be used provided they are FULLY electronically or mechanically dimmable. Also includes decorative lighting like sconces, cove lighting, under armrest lights, aisle lights, etc.

May or may not include egress lighting, as per NFPA 101. While sometimes controlled by the stage lighting console, usually falls under an architectural lighting control system, so that untrained users of the venue can turn on/off lights without being stage lighting experts.
