AES EBU

A digital audio standard developed by the Audio Engineering Society used for transmitting digital audio between devices. The standard signal is divided into 64-bit frames. Easch 64-bit frame then is divided into 32--bit subframes. Each subframe is comprised of 32 time slots used to transfer individual bits of data or sync up the signal.
