box pusher

A semi-derogatory job title for a neckdown, who is unskilled and only qualified to push, lift, or carry heavy items. Sometimes even an "official" job title, as for the load-out of a rock show. "The rider for The Rolling Stones called for 30 'pushers' for the out, and I got a t-shirt!" As a labor management device, many tours will give to the crew color-coded (by department) T-shirts (aka SWAG) to the load-out crew. Others use wrist-bands, or even a strip of gaffers tape placed somewhere on the clothing.
