Butterworth Filter

The Butterworth Filter is a filter that has a maximally-flat passband and stopband. As compared to the Chebychev filter, the Butterworth filter has a less-steep cutoff characteristic but it does not ripple or waver in the passband. See also the Chebychev filter.
