Customer Relationship Management

A model for managing a company’s interactions with current and future customers. It involves using software to organize, automate, and synchronize sales, marketing, customer service, and technical support. CRMs can also be used to create, assign and manage requests made by customers. In addition, CRM software can be used to identify and reward loyal customers over a period of time.
For small businesses a CRM system may simply consist of a contact manager system which integrates emails, documents, jobs, faxes, and scheduling for individual accounts. CRM systems available for specific markets may focus on event management and relationship tracking and/or financial return on investment (ROI).

Some examples of CRM software include but are not limited to: Capsule, Sales Force, Oncontact, Sage ACT! Premium, Prophet, AIMcrm, Relenta, webAsyst, Maximizer CRM, TeamWox, and Chaos Intellect.
