Cable, aircraft

One type of wire rope. Made of Stainless or Galvanized Steel, its strength comes from its construction of multiple bundles of individual strands. Aircraft cable used in rigging is usually 7x19 (7 bundles of 19 strands). The most common size in the theatre is 1/8" as used for lighting safety cables. A counterweight fly system's lift-lines are almost always 1/4".
