First Rehearsal

Sometimes referred to as First Read, First Rehearsal is the first gathering of the Cast, Designers, Stage Managers and Directors. Often, many representatives of the producing body are on hand to instruct actors or people new to the company in company policies and guidelines, such as; deadlines for Bios, Parking procedures, Comp policies etc.
First rehearsal is also a time for Designers to present their final designs/ renderings/concepts to the cast and crew.
First rehearsals are gaining popularity in many theatre companies as a Marketing and Development tool, show sponsors will be invited to sit-in and get an idea of how their donations are being put to use.
