Flight Case

A case that is meant to protect and keep gear in a predefined configuration, more expensive and "safer" flight cases are of a suspension design where there is an inner case that provides for the mounting of equipment and is suspended inside a protective outer case, the suspended design is an implementation to provide better shock absorption. The term originated within the aviation industry when specialized lightweight tough cases proved necessary to protect gear that had to travel frequently by air.
