Hell Week

A term curiously unique to high school and other lower-level educational institutes and some community theatre type organizations. In common usage, it concerns the period otherwise commonly known as tech week. The term "hell week" likely stems from the fact that the importance and process of a proper technical rehearsal period is rarely if ever fully realized in such settings due to a combination of poor planning, general lack of knowledge and often a simple lack of time. Since all technical processes thus become hurried and rushed while directors and actors breath down the necks of the technicians, the week literally can become 'hell'.

This also seems to be the same time in which most "techie vs. actor" rivalries are born, as both end up fighting over time and space in which to do their work.

If tech week is done correctly, it is not hell week, but rather simply tech week
