lamp dip

A liquid paint/stain-like product, lacquer-based, that is designed to color the outside glass envelope of a lamp, thus changing its color. The most common is/was (discontinued Feb., 2015) Colorine by Rosco Labs. Lamp dip is not recommended for lamps over 40W.
