A synchronous optical ring network with built in redundancy, capable of transporting audio, video, computer data and word clock over long distances.

It is capable of 512 audio channels at 48kHz and 24 nodes on ring with a point to point latency in the order of 42 microseconds. Hence it becomes the medium of choice where lots of audio needs to be moved around, such as the Olympic Games.

Optocore is used, under licence, as the optical option in the Digico range of mixing consoles.
