1. n- A large group of musicians including: Brass, Strings, Percussion, Wood-Winds. An Orchestra differs from a Band which does not include Wood-Winds.

2. adj- The main seating area in a Proscenium Theatre house on the ground level.

3. n- Historically, the actual stage floor of a classic Greek theater. Originally a "threshing floor" the Orchestra was used for ceremonial dances to celebrate the Harvest. Later as these ceremonies became more organized They evovled into the Dionyssian Festivals which, in turn, gave rise to The Theatre as we know it today.
