parabolic

A type of reflector, most commonly utilized in a PAR can. A light source placed at the focal point will be reflected into parallel beams, thus allowing the light produced to hold a very tight beam angle. The reverse property has also been utilized, where a parabolic dish can focus incoming sound waves to a common focal point.
