A cable type that is suitable for running in air ducts and spaces between the floor and ceiling (see Plenum). It uses a fire retardant jacket that must comply with local building codes. The jacket is usually either a polyvinylidine diflouride (PVDF) or Teflon material to give it a low flame spread and low smoke producing properties.
