Regional Theatre

Most regional theatres are non-profit organizations. One of the major defining points of a regional theatre is that they produce their own shows. Regional theatres typically employ a union cast, though not all employ a union crew/shop. Regional theatres usually have their own equipment, build each show in house, maintain their own lighting inventory, etc. The two major types of regional theatres are LORT (League of Resident Theatres) and URTA (University/Resident Theatre Association).
