S-hook

An "S" shaped piece of metal that allows you to easily attach things to either end (ex. attaching a curtain to a track):

This ease of attachment because of the open ends can lull you into a false sense of security that things are secure and attached. Practice caution: close the ends with channel-locks to make the connection secure, and remember that S-Hooks are not rated.
