Tensor

A small, high-intensity desk lamp used for task lighting that was once ubiquitous on tech tables. Largely replaced by the Littlite. The Tensor Corp. was sold to Catalina Lighting in 2006: http://ewweb.com/mag/electric_catalina_lighting_buys/ . Some call any small desk lamp a "tensor light" or "tensor lamp." If you hear someone say, "Plug the tensor light into the waber strip," you know he's old!
