1. The term billet is used to refer to any semi-formed, ready to be worked or machined, material. For example; a billet of aluminum might be a small block of aluminum which is going to be machined into a face plate for an Amplifier. A Billet of wood might be turned on a lathe and become a table leg.

2. The small loop or metal bracket used to hold down the free end of a strap after it's passed through a buckle.
