biscuit cutter

A biscuit cutter or plate joiner is a power tool used for cutting half ovals indentions into wood for the purpose of joining two pieces of wood. Once the matching indentions are cut out. A small oval of wood, called a biscuit, is glued into the indentions. Biscuit joiners are useful when gluing up large surfaces and provide more strength then just gluing two pieces of wood together.

Note: A router can be used instead of a biscuit joiner.
