call board

A bulletin board in a convenient backstage location, accessible by cast, crew, and management, that serves as the primary communication center for a production. A place for posting of cast lists, call times, rehearsal schedules, notes, etc. Usually maintained by the Production Stage Manager, but anyone should feel free to post relevant information. Every person working in a theatre should make an effort to check the call board minimally twice (immediately upon arrival and just before departure) daily.

In today's electronic age, the call board is at risk of becoming extinct, due to text messages, emails, websites, and Twitter and Facebook.
