hand prop

Any property which is carried on and off stage by an actor. e.g. A cigarette lighter which the actor pulls from then replaces into a pocket on his costume. Hand Props usually live on a Prop Table backstage and are pre-set by either a props hand or a Production Assistant. It's it the Actors responsibility to " Check their props" prior to their need preferably prior to House opening.
