Marlin spike

A steel spike used for unlaying rope for splicing and untying diffficult knots. Marlin spikes or Marlinspikes or even Marlingspikes can be a tool by themselves or part of a pocket or belt knife. They range anywhere from three to four inches in length up to and surpassing 24 inches in length their size being determined by the size of line being worked.
