Stands for Pre Fade Listen. A function on an audio mixer that allows the user to listen to the signal on a mixer channel via their headphones. This signal is derived before the fader of the channel, and routed to the headphone out of the board. It allows the user to isolate individual inputs to hear them more clearly.
