In recent years, with the advent of eBay, some controversy has arisen regarding local hands selling their satins as souvenirs of the show. Artists' security personnel are concerned that this might lead to counterfeits or other compromises in security. Thus some venues forbid their hands from selling satins, although I've yet to see a venue demand that a pass be returned/destroyed after the show, once it has served its purpose.
