scenery bumper

A piece of hardware used on an electric to protect the lighting fixtures from being knocked about by adjacent scenery, and also to protect the scenery from the sharp edges of the lights. Spaced 5-6' apart the length of the batten, or wherever there is closely spaced scenery. Just an 18" diameter loop of 2" wide strap iron attached to a lighting C-clamp, not difficult to fabricate in one's shop.

Sometimes called a "scenery guard," ironic in that it primarily guards against scenery hurting the lights.
