1. Lighting, noun. Shortened version of throw distance.
2. Electrics, adj. Used when discussing a switch, denotes the number of outputs:
A single throw switch is ON or OFF.
A double throw switch (also called a transfer switch) sends the output to either the A or B side. See also SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT.
3. General, verb. To pitch or toss.
