The act of moving goods from one pipe to another without storing them in between.

In order to be done safely, this requires coordination between the workers on the deck and in the grid.

Two or more linesets are flown to working height. The workers in the grid will then remove counterweight from the pipe that is to have goods removed from it. Once the counterweight is removed, the workers on stage can transfer the goods to the new pipe while the workers on the grid transfer the weight from one lineset to another. Once the weight is transferred, both linesets can again be flown out to trim.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: To do a transfer safely, the counterweight must be removed from the pipe the goods are on BEFORE any of the goods are taken off. Otherwise, you can end up with a dangerous out of balance situation.
