On-site flame retardant treatment referral in the northeast?

Does anyone have a referral for a company in or near New England that does on-site drapery flame retardant application? For years Reynolds in upstate NY was the go-to (at their premises, not on-site), but with their recent closing everyone in the neighborhood is at a loss as to where to go...

Tension Wire Grid in NH, VT, ME or Northern MA

Northern Stage down in White River Junction has one. That's the only one over on the Vermont side of the border I can think of.

    Moving head fixture comparisons

I'm looking forward to seeing a demo of the new Martin ERA . 25% less output than the Quantum, but 50% less cost, overall similar feature set.

    Inkie/ Par16 Wiring

For an inexpensive LED option, we've had success with Ushio Uphoria Par 20 LED in a TMB Procan Par 20 fixture. Comparable output to a 75w par 16, good CRI. Fair low end dimming, but ok for architectural. There are certainly higher end (and more expensive) options too, like Rosco Pica Cube

R20 vs CC20 for LEDs: Best practice vs cost benefit?

Thanks for noting this! I was generalizing with the 'don't use breakers as switches' but you are absolutely right.Given this info, which module would You prefer in this scenario? Assuming racks are reasonably accessible.

    Powercon prices?

Agreed, and as it's 3 degrees below zero here in Vermont right now, very relevant. But is it 'legal'?

R20 vs CC20 for LEDs: Best practice vs cost benefit?

This is not another "can I power my LEDs through a D20 dimmer" question. This is a question about constant power versus relayed power that stems from a discussion with a colleague. What is your opinion of best practice, and the cost benefit of using a CC20 Constant Current module to power LEDs...

    ETC Express upgrade

Good suggestions above, but if budget constraints don't allow for even a used Ion or Element, check out ETCNomad software, to run on your computer or Nomad with Puck (ETC mini computer). It's the same operating system and Element/Ion/Eos without all the hardware. Not the greatest for alot of...

    Powercon prices?

A late addition to this thread , if ya don't mind. I came close to finding the answer to a question in this thread: SJT cable for powercon leads and extensions. I know the new rule ST mentioned, allowing leads and jumpers up to 2M to be Hard Usage SJ (as opposed to SO) . But I haven't seen any...

    Showbaby issues

If your Showbaby is less than a year old, it should still be under warranty (if it turns out to be a warranty issue).....opening it up and trying to repair it yourself could void the warranty. The City dealer you purchased it from *should* be able to facilitate a repair or replacement. (If they...

Guide Lines For Hanging Curtains, Battens and Projector Screen

To second the previous reply, a professional rigging installer is in order. The liability involved in overhead rigging makes it not a suitable area for do-it-yourself projects. Contact one or more local or regional theatrical dealers for their input, most will be happy to provide a proposal or...
