ETC Ion Channel Views and wasted space

Hey everyone, Glad to finally be part of the discussion. Trying to talk about lighting on the internet is interesting isn't it?

I just finished tweaking my new light plot at a theater I've been working in for years, and they finally just got an ETC ION this year. So much better than the Insight - don't get me wrong, I loved that thing, but the floppy disks...

I started programming this week, and I can't seem to find a channel view that does what I want.
I've used Flexi and Format to isolate only Patched channels, and it shows the tables for moving lights, LED's, and scrollers. I've put regular channels after the 4 scrollers, and then LED's, more regular channels, then moving lights. The problem is that there is so much wasted space on the screen when it's divided like that. I'm hoping I'm just missing a view that will put the next group of channels to the right of the scrollers instead of below them.

I know this can all be solved by hitting Format again so all the channels have that rounded rectangle shape, but I really prefer the tables that give me all the information.

I've not yet tried using the magic sheet, if there isn't a format/flexi view solution, would the magic sheet be the best way to go?

Thanks!

You can re-size the Live Table screen by left clicking on the screen, holding the Shift key and scrolling the mouse wheel.

But I agree that there can be wasted space in Patched view (which is my typical screen).

Make sure you update to the latest version. Then you can flip from quad screens or a single screen quickly.

Using direct selects with groups can be a fast way for grabbing fixtures or even moving your to an area.

You also have the option of creating a Magic Sheet with a mix of tombstones for conventional channels, and box objects configured as channels, with associated Beam, Focus and Color info inside the box.

The MS can be completely tailored as to your preference for object size, grouping, locations, etc...
