Got lucky and found a used etc rfu online came with the 50 ft insattled cord and an extra 100 ft. Lights when connected to board. No input from keypad. Purchased 2 chips to replace input and output. Anybody replace these chips before?

Not those specifically, but in general , you'll need a chip pulling tool (kinda like a staple remover, visit Radio Shack). And you'll want access to a vise big enough to take the RFU itself.........

Hi @Doowop63,

Those chips are socketed so removal and replacement shouldn't be too difficult with a chip puller or a pair of needlenose pliers. I've never found that a vise was needed, simply placing the RFU on its face and keeping downward pressure on the RFU while removing the chip has been sufficient.

The important thing to note is the orientation of the chip in the socket. The chips will have a dot or notch on them to denote which pin is number 1. It is important to make sure that you insert the replacement chip in the same orientation as the original chip for it to function properly.

It is possible to reverse (by 180 degrees) the orientation of the chip, which will cause damage to the chip.
