Glue from tape on lavalier and headset wires. How to remove it?

Hi!

Whan to know how to remove the clue that stucked on the wire of the headsetmicrophone or lavalier after a show, musical or theater.

If you can find Goo-Gone, that is my first choice. If you don't have that, try peanut butter, vegetable oil, or vinegar.

Goo gone, or 90% isopropyl alcohol cut with water, or if you're hardcore get uni-solve and let the actors use it too.

I third Goo Gone! and it doesn't smell as caustic as other options.

I use Ronsonol lighter fuel (Naptha). It works extremely well and doesn't damage the cable.

I've always used alcohol wipes. Seems to do the job. Goo gone would be my next choice if the wipes don't work.

Spirit gum remover also works well (wardrobe/makeup department may well have some - that's where I always "borrowed" it from!)
