What exactly do these lasers do/who made them?

Does anybody know what these fixtures do exactly and who made them? They look like custom lasers made by LumaLaser (never heard of them until now), but I’m not sure if LumaLaser made them or just programmed them. I found them in the redwood creek trail area of Disneys California Adventure. From what I’ve seen they are much like star shower lasers but a lot more robust.

They project little laser dots. They're just a different version of what's in the Pixie Hollow queue area in Disneyland.
There's a single laser (like laser pointer) diode and a glass refraction which splits the single beam into a few thousand tiny beams.
The inner circle you see if like a donut to prevent stray light.
